Local Walmart photo counter here in Canada just told me that no more A95's are available to them to order. Anyone heard that an updated version is imminent - A105??

A520 & A520 is the replacement for the A75 & A85 neither are a replacement for the A95.
There will probably be a A530 coming out soon that will be a 5.0 MP and have a flip screen but only require 2 batteries and take a SD memory card.

I'm assuming that the true successor to the A95 will be a camera with an unspecificed resolution -- probably 6 MP or so, DIGIC II processing for very fast AF times, manual featues and all that jazz, and still use the same lens and CF as the A95/A80.

Yes I agree, but I think the mp will be 7. Remember these sensors are Sony sensors and 6mp isn't in their lineup. I wish it will allow crv3s or lithium AAs.

I would tend to agree with fellow Edmontonian "cjm", except for a slight clarification. A510 replaces the A75 (3MP); A520 replaces the A85 (4MP), and A530 is the most likely replacement for the A95 (5MP). This makes sense within the A500 designation. Speculation that the replacement for the A95 will have a 7MP sensor seems a little utopian, as Canon already has the S70, G6 and the SD500 with 7MP sensors. Since they kept 3MP and 4MP cameras in the A500 series, they will likely keep a 5MP camera in the A500 series. Time will tell.
