Is there anything out there that'll allow me to connect a canon lens to a nikon body? My father purchased a D5000 for the video feature and I'd like to let him use my lenses occasionally if possible?

I don't think there is, but it's not something I've really researched. If there is, since there is a Nikon-EOS adapter that doesn't require optics (the Nikon lens is still able to focus to infinity with an EOS adapter attached to the rear) I'd expect that an EOS-Nikon adapter would require some optics, effectively making it a low-power teleconverter. Also, you would not have auto-focus or (most important) aperture control on the lens. You'd either have to use it wide open all the time or use the kludge that lets you force the lens to stay stopped down when you dismount it (set aperture on EOS, use DoF preview and dismount lens while DoF Preview is active; it may por may not work consistently and you'd be stuck with a dimmer image than you're used to).

Make it the newer T2i, which does a full 30 fps at 1080p; the T1i only manages 20 fps at 1080; 30 at 720p.
