Set the strobes up a second time to do more mens hockey. Too busy at work to get the 11" reflectors rented as suggested, still went with the 7".

Spread the lights further. Two at red line and blue line, one on each side, then one at end in the middle.

Shot from the photo hole in the corner and one of the players' benches.

Exif attached.

C& C welcome.

4. No puck, but this one seemed to light up just perfectly. You can see his eye colour.

7. I like the 'splash' the puck makes on this faceoff

Darcy,

Those are looking great. You have those setup great. Looks like you really do not need to change reflectors, if anything maybe play with the power level settings on the heads, but faces look spot on and you will never be able to totally eliminate those shadows. Great job!!! :)

Darcy,

These look much better than the last effort with strobes. I think you have everything figured out! Well Done!!

Thanks fellas....

There are two more sets of arena lights, one down each side of the playing surface that are television lights. The rink-rats wont turn them on (even for a bribe!)....they're only for the Generals. Too costly is what they're told.

They light the place up like a NHL rink. The ambient light is great anyway, but these just make it over the top.

I'd like to set-up again with them on.

Tom : is it aperture control, ambient light or strobes flashing 360 degrees of the surface, that keeps the far end nicely exposed in a shot from one end where there is lots of background - all the way to the other goalie in some cases? Shots I took like that had the old time feel of the dark BG.

I'm guessing more strobes.........
