View Full Version : Canon - 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6L EF IS USM Lens

Thats a WIDE zoom range... Anyone have any problems with this lens being too soft or not good?

I really like the fact i have one lens from 28-300, since i dont like changing lenses often... I was thinking of getting this unless something can tell me otherwide. I was also looking at the 70-200 f/4 and or the 100-400 L IS.

Any comments?

Its as good as canon can make a L lens of this focal length. Like any lens like this, it is a compromise in many areas of performance. I once had a tamron of the same range. Loved the ease of use. Thought to myself that canon's L variant would be simply KILLER. Checked one out and found it to be nice, but not worth the $$$ and had the sad realization that a couple of lenses could way out perfrom this 1 lens in many areas other than just $$$.
