This shoot was great practice for me. It was my first real shoot outdoors.
I used a mixture of natural light and strobes.
C&C Welcome.

I like #1.
For outdoors since space can't be a problem, I would use longer focal length. Look at #3, the feet/lens look longer than they are. A longer focal length shot from distance won't do that and it will also help with blurring the bg more.

my favorite is number 2, though

I do agree with you there, in this case there were trees behind me and I couldn't actually get any further away without a wide-angle shot.
Maybe a better choice of location next time.
Thanks for your comments!

Be careful about having too much distance between the parents heads. Still, nice pics.

I like 'em, my favorites are #1 and #4 (*especially* #4, that came out awesome). I'm not sure about the lighting in #2 and especially #3, though. Seems unnatural looking.

2 and 4 are awesome. Very nice balance of natural and strobe... I think 3 would have been better if they were looking at the camera...and the first one I like, but I'm a little bothered by the positioning of the parents to the boy. He seems really far away from them the way the mother is leaning in towards the father. Maybe if he was sitting between them or on the mothers lap or something...I don't know... I just have to force my eye to look at him. Overall, really nice job!

1 is my fav. The wide angle is a nice attempt, but the feet are a little scary. Would have loved if they were tucked behind more.
