i'll comment =)
Pretty nice set overall
-#1 is nice, but I feel like it could have been shot more creative. Just the way I feel. I'm pretty sure you also took a lot more different angles of the cake as well though..
-What was your lighting setup in particular #3 & 5? It looks good.
-In #6 the guy's skin bugs me, and my eyes stay there.. I would photoshop it so the skin doesn't look that dry.
-I have a question on #8. Is there a reason why the rings were shot there?
But again nice set, I really like #7 how the branches of the tree are leading/pointing to the bridegroom and #3 is stunning :D

Concept behind the "timelessness" of #8 is marvellous.

Jules,
1- Average cake shot, not bad, just nothing mind blowing, but cute cake !
2- PP is good, like this one classic walking away pose.
3-Ouch, not exactly flattering to the bride. If possible I would have shot her from a high vantage point looking down with a very narrow DOF, focusing on her face ? but not sure if such a vantage point was available?, but straight - side on like this, well enough said I think.
4- good shot, but leaving her shoulder exposed like this shows it for what it is, a slab of meat, I would have opted for draping her veil over that shoulder and just had them kissing in the open as it helps to take the focus off of it, and makes it a far better image IMO
5- Much better, again draping veil over her shoulder, and not having him compress her chest as much please
6- Yup good one
7- It's a nice pose, maybe not working as well as it could have with this particular bride, I would possibly have gone with him in front, and her more behind him, just hiding her that little bit, but what can you do, you gotta show her in some images right?
8-Bang on ..
Just my tuppence worth, take it or leave it, and please everyone, lets not get sucked into the "Big Bride" topic yet again.
Jim..

Thank you :) I do have about 5 other shots of the cake :)
I had a diffused on camera 580exII for those shots... that's it :)
I know... his skin is pretty dry... he's a carpenter.... and that shot is with a little clean up already, lol.
As for the rings, there are a couple of reasons... one, due to the fact that trees have rings, too.... and two, the rough texture is such a yummy contrast to the elegant rings.
nice series, really liked the ring shot
Thank you :)

Thank you... I'm glad that you get it

Thanks, Jim.. your input is much appreciated. I was, actually on a tree stump when shooting that shot of the bride. I agree with most of the crits that you laid out, however, I really like 3... I think she looks beautiful.
it was a little hard to not compress her against him to get a shot of them close together. however, I will try harder the next time. We have a "Mess the Dress" session scheduled, so we'll see what we can do then :)
thanks, again.... I appreciate you taking the time to critique

Very nice. Have you given any thought to converting #6 yo B&W?

Please post a few of them. The ones on your site are great.

Yea, I did... I gave them both versions...

I like the B&W better, but that's just my opinion. I've always thought in the color vs. B&W debate the best one is whichever one the client likes better. Did they say?

No, they didn't specify which one they like better. But I almost always give a client the choice.... If I convert the image to a B&W or creative edit, I include the original color version as well.

i dont think this is your best set..cos some of your stuff ive seen ive used as inspiration and is amazing..but i love the ring shot! the first pic however looks very ordinary and as if you just used a point and shoot on it! the processing on the others is great...
no.8 and 4 are my favs!

Jules # 6 is very easy to fix his dry skin :D
Using photoshop grab a brush. Pick a color in his hand that does not look dry. Change the mode to saturation and lower the opacity and flow to around 45% and brush away to the desired look :) Maybe still make it look a little tiny dry because that kinda tells a story in a way. Maybe you already knew but.. just making sure you know how to quickly fix that dry skin. From all of your professional and kind responses I know you won't take it the wrong way :)

Yea, you're right... not the best cake shot to use.... I now wonder why I even posted it in this set. I have 3 other shots that are more creative, but don't show the entire cake. Oh well.
This wedding posed a few challenges for me that I hadn't dealt with yet...
I, too, don't feel like this was my strongest wedding. But it just makes me strive to be that much better on the next wedding.
Thank you for the comments, Rahul. Your words are much appreciated.

Thanks, Joel. And no worries... I definitely do not take it the wrong way :)
I will ask if they want the skin fixed.
