just wondering if any of you have a 'go to' filter. The one(s) you reach for every time?

Depends on the situation really. I'd say I leave my polarizer on my 17-40L almost always though. After that, I use the hell out of my 3 stop soft GND, followed by my 3 stop hard GND, followed by the 4 stop ND filter. If I had a 4 stop reverse GND, I'd probably use it a lot (I take a lot of sunset shots).

3-stop soft GND. A good circular polariser secondary to that.
Graduated neutral density filters are fantastic.

Color combo and either 4 stop soft grad or 3 stop reverse grad all depends on the situation
Really but they are my favourite filters for landscapes
