Taking pictures of my Prego wife to show the progression and she is putting them in a scrap book. We are at odds as to which is better. What do you guys think?

I vote for color.
She has beautiful eyes and I love the expression!
If that's a white shirt, you may want to use it to set the white balance. I'm only guessing, but I think that would give her complexion a warmer tone.

They both are lovely pictures, but they are a bit over sharpen. The BW are a little to high in contrast. The Color can use a little glow effect. They both can use a little boost in shadows.

Thanks for the input. Lostdoggy, I think what you are seeing is JPG compression. I did very little sharpening on these but I did compress them, maybe a bit too much.

hi Ovi,
hope you are well, and congrats on the child. i preferred the color one. i think it had the better feel, and expression. the B/W is a little too B/W, needs more midrange tone. :)

I vote for COLOR. It has nice color harmony and a better feel to it. The BW one is too contrasty for me. Oh, and I love that hat.

Definitely the color ver for now. It is a beautiful shot. I like the lighting setup.

Eric,

Thank you. I must admit that the BW conversion was a quick one and I did not spend the time to do my usual BW conversion. Looks like color (and my wife) is winning this argument.

InsKip,

That is my working on the yard/garden hat. Bought it in Tennessee years ago.

Wareseeker,

Thanks. I have been trying to experiment with lighting and trying some stuff like this where the lighting is not so flat. I used two lights with 20 degee grids for this one. One was aimed at the face and one at the belly.
