Hilltop Hoods @ Adelaide Big Day Out '10

Shooting the two main stages at the BDO is kinda restrictive: the physical height of the stage is well over head high so my style of "camera held high, outstretched arm with wide angle lens" is virtually useless. You're forced to shoot from back against the rail with a long lens = fine for tight shots of individual members of the band, but ****house for anything else.

Having backstage access solves that problem. And opens the door to shots otherwise not possible.

Big thanks to the Hilltop Hoods and manager Dylan for hooking me up with backstage access for their performance at this years BDO, these shots would have sucked otherwise!

1 (cool crop), 5 and 6 are very nice
they are not about music or performance too much for me
just very well composed/exposed captures, imo

thanks roman. yeah it was a tough time of the day to shoot.

verty, i fired a flash on 02 and 06 at 1/2 power to get the fill light happening while maintaing the underexposed otherwise blown out background
