View Full Version : Pseudo-HDR?

I've heard the term pseudo-HDR used for some shots that were created by using only one exposure and I have also heard some other forums and people use the term HDR when a single exposure is processed in Lightroom to give it that look. So, please forgive me if I posted this in the wrong section, as this might not be a "true-HDR".

I was looking for some C&C on this shot I made. The original was part of my Project 365 back in February, but I decided to do a lot of processing to it in Lightroom. Would this be considered an HDR, pseudo-HDR, or even just a "tone-mapped" image, or something else? I personally don't care for the over the top, over saturated processing on some HDRs, so I was careful not to do that on this one. Although I think some people will think it is, but that's okay. :)

Tonemapped. I like it for what it is. Interesting look. It does look like the scene might have some HDR potential. You might go back and try shooting it with AEB and process it for HDR to see if you can get the underside of the bridge to come out. Between that, and the reflecting sunlight on the side of the mid-bridge support, you have some pretty good range there.
