Hi,
I finally got my latest copy of the BG-E2 after 4 months of exchanges.
One thing I notice when using the camera in portrait mode, that gosh durn POTN strap keeps getting in the way of the viewfinder, and my face. :D
How do you guys deal with it?

Never thought of it to be a problem, I just push it out of the way.

Can't say I've tried to do much else about it, other than to simply deal with it by moving it to the front of the camera.

I had the same problem with any strap over my neck. So I got me a E-1 hand strap, and took off the shoulder strap completly.

Thanks guys.
Nolz, I think moving it in front of the camera is probably the way I would deal with it.
Other than that, the hand strap looks very tempting. The only problem with that is that the hand strap doesn't work when holding by the grip. So, there would be nothing protecting you from dropping the camera.
You would think there would be hand strap available for the portrait mode too.

I walk around for 6-8 hours at shows with the hand strap only and my 70/200f2.8 attached. I'm an old guy and not robust - haven't had a problem yet. It's all in what works for you. I've had more "near misses" with a neck strap getting caught on corners of things. Hand strap works better as a steadying device for me also.

I have both an Optech Neck-strap, and a Zing Hand-strap attached to my 20D.
I can easily detatch the Optech when wishing to use the hand strap alone.
As for the Hand-strap alone, for me, lugging the camera around all day "hanging from my hand", would be tedious, so I use "top loader" shoulder/belt bags.
