I used this PP style last year, and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna stick with it this season. Just wanted to get some thoughts.

Upon 1st glance, I can't tell anything is done - which i think is a GOOD thing. But looking harder a 2nd time I notice the bokeh appears to have been sharpened (or something). Do you have a "before" shot to compare with?

Something with the background looks off. Did you blur the background? Only because you said you did some post did I question the bg... otherwise it looks pretty good.

Actually, I did a quick Apply Image in Lab Color, followed by a very light vignette on the corners and edges. Sharpen and out!

Nice! Looking at the original, I would say that's an EXCELLENT PP.

Thank you very much. And it held good up to a 12x18 print. Unfortunately, this was shot JPG, so my options are a little bit limited.

Thanks guys. It's become my 'style' for all my sports photography. I'm sure there are others that look a lot like it, but the secret is... well... a secret! *cough*LAB COLOR*cough*

Thanks. My goal with this one was to focus you on the eyes. Is that the first thing you see?

Looks good. If u are in CS3 or higher, try shadow/highlight and add just a touch to the highlights. U might like that.

I can't join the crowd here. The skin tones in the original are much better. The edit has too much yellow added and is oversaturated.

Wow, really? Is your monitor calibrated? The original's white balance is off. The shot is blue-cast. The skin tones on the edit are very accurate, even in print.

Yes, really - on two different calibrated monitors. Your question wasn't whether the first or second was correct - it was if we liked your PP.

The white balance in both is off. I personally don't like the oversaturated, over warm look, which is what the second one looks like to me. Your yellow is running about 50% more than your magenta on his face. In the first, the yellow/magenta are almost even, which isn't right either, but I don't find it as off as the second. The yellow should be higher than the magenta - but not 50%-75%. That, added with the burning of the edges, is leaving it to yellow/orange for me. (The helmet on the left has been rendered almost orange).

As for print, it may very well look perfect in print depending on the printers calibration. If it sells and the customer likes it, that's what matters.

I agree, way too yellow and yes my monitor is calibrated.
