I have been VERY Amazed:) :) by what I have seen some poeple do using PS to their photos. I am trying to do a little too, but would like some advice to create really nice photos of my new son. I am sure you'll agree he is a SUPER CUTE kid!

here is the original and my try for touch-up. All I did for this one was some color correction, but probably not so good compared to what someone else might have done. I am trying to learn to make these photos look good....does anyone have any suggestions for this photo?

I don't have neat IMage - are there any free plug-ins that work similarly?

If you touch up, please explain your steps. Thanks.

Adjust Contrast > Adjust Colour > Adjust Colour Balance > Adjust Levels > Unsharp Mask > Crop.

This may still be a little yellowish. Depends what it was actually like in 'real life'. This was a crop, then levels adjustment. Contrast up a little. Slight increase in saturation and most importantly, a run through noise ninja.
