I found this article interesting. It's a older interview(Oct 04), translated from a Japanese site regarding the crops and the future of EOS DSLRs and some point and shoots. It is revelant because the references are the cameras we use today:Rebel D, 20D, 1DmII,1DsmII.

Forgive me if the subject had been touched on.

The original link to the Japanese site is in the article also.

Interesting because some test shows that the 20D and the 1dmII are close in noise performance. Though of course in other areas, the 1dmII is far far superior.
But the ideas of the "tweener" is certainly discouraged here.
As I said, this article was last Fall, companies like Canon are very flexible if they know there's a buck to be made. Hopefully the demands of a "Tweener" through out many forums will help change their minds.
Look at the Nikonians, they've been screaming for a D200 (the 20D killa)for a long time; how many(more) of them will jump ship if they see Canon making a move and Nikon is still stagnant or just keeping up?

Well, it's not exactly new that Canon would rather prefer that pro's buy the more advanced (and expensive) 1D and 1Ds models than the 'prosumer' bodies

Thank you for the link to the interview, hadn't seen it so far.

Best regards,
Andy

You're very welcome, glad someone enjoyed it. I really thought the info would spark more interest.
One of the things I thought off when he mention it was what is his stance on cameras with a 1.5 crop? Its almost a preemptive strike on the D2X and it's like.
