When i went to the store... the lady mentioned the battery grip for the 20D does NOT include two rechargable battries...

Are they telling me i need to spend $160 on the grip, then buy another battery in order to use the damn thing?

any help, i really want to order one off B&H.

I also understand it should come with the AA Clip for normal batts. Im bitching about the rechargable litho-ion batts tho. Since thats teh big boss of battries at like $40-60 each.

She is right... they don't come with batteries. I don't know about the 20D, but the grip for the 350XT will work with one or two batteries.

It will work with one battery.

The BGs are sold without batteries. And you can stick only one into it without problem.

Wait til' he finds out that lens hoods (except for L series) are separate items. On the other hand with the 420EX you don't have to buy bulbs anymore.

Haha, that's the good thing about Sigma lenses, nearly all of them come with hoods :)

My 20D came without pictures - I had to go out and take my own.
Who should I complain to, please?

Not totally true, you can buy the battery grip accessory pack that comes wtih an extra battery, some little bag and some other silly item. If you want a Canon battery buy the accessory pack, otherwise buy the grip on its own and order one of the cheap online batteries that everyone raves about.

   I have had the same problem with every camera i have purchased.

Does the Battery Grip at least come with the adapter to use AA batteries, or is that a separate accessory too?

If you don't want to buy it, don't, no-one's making you. The're selling a piece of equipment with a specific function (to hold batteries and give more control buttons), they're not selling batteries, which are worth quite a lot if you buy from Canon. Does a car come with a driver?

Yup, the AA adapter is included with the 20D grip

How many Christmas gift have you received with the little disclaimer on the box ... "batteries not included"?

with 2 extra batteries it would be $240 dollars.

I have several extra batteries since I often travel away from power sources, but do not have a battery grip because I don't want to carry any extra weight or bulk.

If I did decide to get a battery grip I would be upset if it cost more because it includes a couple more extra batteries that I don't need. I am happy they are sold separately.

they never said that " hahaha in order to use the Bg-E2, you need to buy a second battery"...hahahah got u got u...

the battery grip is for balancing larger lenses, allows easier vertical shooting, and as an extra, it holds a compartment for two batteries SHOULD YOU FEEL THE NEED TO PUT TWO IN THERE.

Tim is right, no one is forcing you :p

Let me see if I got this straight:
You went to the store, wasted the woman's time, then bitch about no batteries, now you're going to order it from another store who's selling for 10 bucks more?
I bet they love seeing your face there.

You don't strictly need 2 extra batteries, only 1, as the grip slots into where the original battery went.

END/ highly technical review :p

Don't complain. I paid almost $300cdn for the BG-E2 (the going rate here), and it has never worked right.
