Hey everybody, I'm on the lookout for new lowepro bag...
Which of their camera bags fits a laptop AND has a section on the back to fix a tripod?
- also, how flexible are the internal compartments, can you move them around / reconfigure them as you see fit? It'd be great if I could get a nice sized bag that'd fit all of my gear plus have a bit of room for a couple of t-shirts etc if I was flying a weekend away - could avoid checked baggage!
Thanks in advance everybody

Take a look at the Vertex series, the 200 AW and 300 AW specifically: both bags have a removable tripod hook to carry a tripod.
I own the Vertex 300 AW and it is a voluminuous bag inside-it fits my existing kit plus hoods, USB external hard drives, etc; and it's the only one that will take my HP Pavilion 17" laptop, but on the flop it's over 8 pounds empty, so you may want to take that into consideration.

8 pounds empty does sound a lot! Is it comfortable with all of your gear inside whilst walking around for ages?

The harness is very comfortable and very adjustable even with all my gear...it does tend to get a bit heavy when I add my laptop (about 30 pounds total). If I use this bag I tend to carry my tripod separately, since I bought it for use mainly as a transport bag to work out of; if you're young and have a strong back it shouldn't be a problem:lol:, I still wouldn't try to schlep around a national forest with it for 8 hours.

I've got the 200. It holds a 15.4 laptop. Lots of space inside with tripod holder on the front. Not 8 lbs heavy unloaded but still has some weight to it. Straps are comfortable and very adjustable, almost custom.
I haven't seen one on here, so I was thinking of a review of the bag if there was some interest.

The new Lowepro Pro Runner 350 will carry a laptop and it has a tripod mount and strap. It is a backpack designed for air travel (i.e., is designed to go through airports as a carry-on)

There is a larger size too, the 450:

One of the photos in the 450 gallery shows the tripod mounted to the bag.
They also make a couple of rolling backpack models in this series.
Hope that helps.
