A few weeks ago I had to go to a customer in another city, they had a bit of an emergency I had to fix for them. When I was done there, I decided to take the rest of the day off and have a look at my cousins "studentdag", since her family lives in that same city. I had the camera with me as always, but since I hadn't planned on going there that day, I didn't bring the flash unfortunatly :(
Got a couple of shots that wasn't too bad, but the sun was really showing off, and they wore their "studentmössa" on their head all the time, so the upper half of her face is very dark on most pictures :(

These two shots were the least bad ones I think...

EXIF: 75mm, f/2.8, 1/800s and 1/1600s, ISO100
Both taken with 350D and the Tammy lens.

Please leave some C&C...

Nice shots :D
Really like the first one.

But wait ... is that some kind of jewel set in her front tooth

It always amazes me to what extent people go with mutilating themselves . But then, who am I to judge others...

I find that the built-in flash (while certainly not great) is quite usable as fill flash on sunny days.

Best regards,
Andy

Thanks Andy :)

Yeah, that's a golden heart on her tooth, kids of today huh? Hehe... it actually doesn't look so bad I think, but it's not something I fancy getting myself ;)

Well, I have a few shots that I took with the built in flash, but they are really over exposed, maybe I should try to fix one of them and see what happens.

Yeah, you sometimes have to fool around with FEC to get it working correctly ... but hey, that's what makes the whole thing so interesting for us, right

*sigh*
I really have to learn to use flash, it's so much harder than you expect unfortunatly! I'll get a book and read I think, along with all the others I need to learn to take photos :)
The only real problem I have with the Tamron lens is that it doesn't have USM and FTM... it's kinda slow to focus, and seems to miss it's mark quite often. Probably because of me, but still...

Played around a bit with one of the flash-pics that I took indoors, not too happy with the result though. The ones where I used the flash outdoors are just unusable, that white hat just dissapears in the background!

hehe.. White is almost as hard to photograph as Black!! 8)

These are nice shots.. and you managed to get the last one fixed nicely too.
Still haven't touched the FEC stuff.. just set it on manual.. flip the flash.. and hope it comes out ok. So far it has worked.. more or less... ;)

What a lovely young lady! I love the first one and it would be way much better if it was a little bright on her face.

Myth337: Quite true... B&W are special in so many ways, they have more meaning than other colors IMHO. And bloody hard to take photos of. :)

Yeah... I've got my nice 550EX, but the first thing I realised when I got it was that I have no idea how to use it. And I don't really understand the whole flash-thing either, so I will have to read up on that.

Wareseeker: Thanks, I'll tell her! She looks so much like her mother in some aspects that it's almost scary :)
Yeah, I have to agree that a bit of light would have helped a lot. Made an attempt to add some, but realised that to make it good, I will have to redo the whole post processing process (erh... :D ), so I'll just post what I got, some day I'll try to make a better version!

Well, as you can see, it looks weird... I think that the biggest problem is that I only changed the face :)
But at least it's possible to add some light without destroying too much, but I've spent enough time in PS today. I need to hire someone to fix my crappy pictures in PS so they don't look quite as bad!
