Looking for bag to house 7D+grip & large lens

Opening this question up to the knowledge of POTN.
I am looking for a shoulder bag (preferably one strap) that can hold a 7D gripped with a 70-200 2.8IS or 100-400IS lens attached and an additional lens + flash. The camera would need to have easy access to pull out while on the go. Any ideas? My larger and smaller bags just are cutting it anymore for this set-up.

The smallest crumpler you could do would be the 8 million dollar home, if you want the 70-200 attached and standing on end. The 7MDH can stuff it in horizontally, but it's not ideal

Think tank has a couple that will fit that combo as well, I think they're the UD60 and one of the UD30ish numbers. It shows which ones fit on their website.

I don't think the Tenba messenger is deep enough for what you want to do.

Domke makes some nice bags, but I'm not as familiar with them. They tend to be larger duffle type bags, as opposed to the more compact messenger style bags I mentioned. Check out the sticky on camera bag reviews, or www.cambags.com for more reviews.

Maybe look at the Domke F3x or the F2. The F3x should do it by itself; the F2 will give you a bunch more room but you'd want to replace the supplied 720-240 insert with a 720-220 or 720-230 depending on the lenses you want to carry. I don't have the F4AF (it's between the F3x and F2 in capacity), but it's smaller than the 8MDH from Crumpler and I'd bet on it holding a lot more stuff readily accessable. And the only thing large about Domkes is the interior space. They tend to be deceptively small for their capacity.

Jon & Josh- Thanks for the info and bag suggestions. Looks like Domke makes a ton of bags! Need to do a little measuring and figure out what dimensions are the best combination.
Anyone else have any ideas?

The 8 MDH fits these lenses perfectly. The bag was made deeper than the 7 MDH just for this purpose. I can carry the 70-200 mounted to my 7D with room to carry the 100-400,flash,17-55,and another lens. Like I said it was made for this reason.

The Think Tank UD-35 will hold the camera mounted to a 70-200/2.8 or 100-400 with another lens next to it. It is taller than most of the TT UD bags, and has a special design feature for holding a gripped/pro size body. The UD-50 Pro is also sized for the larger camera.

You also might want to take a look at the new Think Tank "Retrospective" line of bags sized for gripped/pro bodies which are due out this month...

I have the Tamrac Pro 12, it wil take my gripped 50D+70-200 2.8 IS and the Bigmos.

You may also want to look at the Ultra Pro 7 (which looks like a replacement for the Pro 5).

The 8MDH looks great but the Think Tank Retrospective line looks like it might be perfect also. So will have to wait until they are released and try and see one.
Any others?

Oh ... I forgot about the Tamrac 5605 Pro-5. It would easily hold what you want in a fairly small bag.
I can hold 2 ungripped cameras mounted on large lenses in that bag, so one gripped body should be no problem at all.

Um, not exactly. I own the Pro 5...yes, it will hold my gripped 50D+70-200 2.8 IS plus my 17-55 and 10-22 with 580 EX II (without hoods), but I don't think it will hold two ungripped bodies.

I think it's been superseded by the Ultra Pro 7.

I said I carried 2 ungripped bodies mounted in the Pro-5, and that the OP should have no trouble with just 1 gripped body/lens and an additional lens as he requested.

The Pro-5 is deep enough to have the cameras "base-to-base" with the tops facing the sides of the bag. I carry a 5D-II with 24-70/2.8 hood extended, and a 7D with 70-200/2.8 hood reversed. Neither camera has a grip on it and the bag will not hold 2 gripped bodies.
