I don't think this is the best place to ask this but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I would like to put interior LED neon under my dash in my mercedes and I wanted to see if anyone here knew a good and easy way to do that since I am only 16. Is there a way to put in a fuse slot and use that? If there is an easier way please let me know. I would love to learn more about electrical in cars.

I have done some searches on google but they really don't answer my question. I am going to new mexico from the 6-12 so I will order before i leave and will be installing them when i get back.

So if anyone can help that would be amazing. Thanks!

fused 12v from battery to relay, switched 12v signal from another acc (key in, first turn) item such as cig lighter or head unit to switch + to accessory (don't pull it from anything like light gauges/etc). Ground is well, you know, anywhere that has been taken down to bare metal, or remove a screw/bolt that provides it, crimp on a washer like connector for that.

Having been there nearing 20 years ago, my advice is, don't do it. Maybe it's the overall loss of interest in cars, but maybe in a decade you'll laugh at the idea of making something light up differently. For me though, it's always been go > show.

You never want to leave that kind of stuff wired straight to the battery, even with switches involved; I've had lighting (oh the woes of my 16 year old mind and neon) that I've inadvertently turned on while getting out of the car...Did I mention how those lights are illegal in my area? Had to walk out to my car to find it surrounded by a pair of cops, pretend I left my keys inside the store, and did a 180. Later on though, silly wiring tricks I learned then eventually turned to me ripping out the engine harness in my '91 RX-7 Turbo and wiring in a MicroTech LT-8; more boost, fuel and ignition map tuning, good times.

What does this have anything to do with photography? How about going to an automotive forum and asking?

I am not part of another forum and i know some people know cars here very well and like taking pics so it doesn't hurt to ask.
