I dont know if any of you remember, but about a week ago I was headed out to try my hand at Skateboard photography.

I grabbed a couple of friends and we went downtown.

The blood isn't in focus! Grand job. Which technique for the multiples?

Yeah, that shot was taken while driving to the next skate spot...it was hard to focus while he was driving.

I shot the multiples with my multiple mode...which on the D30 is 3fps. Then I stitched them in Photoshop.

Know of a tutorial for stitching? I have a few skateboarding sequences I've been wanting to do this with.

I open up all the photos in photo shop and arrange them in the sequence they go in. Then I make a new image with a white background that is large enough to fit all of the images together and leave me some room top and bottom for working around them.

I then pick the middle frame and paste it to the blank image. Then I past one of the sequences (left or right) and I adjust its opacity so that its kind of see through. I try to line up any straight lines that are close the body of the skater (like the ledges or fences). Then I adjust the opacity back to 100% and erase the parts of that image that overlap the first image.

It takes some playing around, but I can usually get it right.

Then I keep going until I have the whole sequence.

Usually the photos don’t line up in a perfect line. They kind of create an arc because I move the camera along with the skater as he skates. So it takes some cropping to then make them look square.

Maybe that's all really confusing, but that would be why I don’t write tutorials...haha...

You did a great job with it. These kinds of images make most sports pictures much more interesting.
