Looks like they are really trying.

This has got to be tough to shoot......I think you did well with these. Exposure looks okay on my laptop. Would have nice to have a ball in focus as it is about to be hit.

I have never shot the sport so take my comments as you wish...generally pretty good although on my monitor they look a little overexposed perhaps by only 1/2 stop?? Maybe just bump up the contrast a bit to make them pop a bit more? Also, you may want (if light permits) to try a faster shutter speed to freeze ball more and minimize motion blur...just a bit too much for my liking. I have seen others post some killer table tennis shots on here. Perhaps do a search and learn what their setting as such were.

Might be tough depending upon where they are playing, but a cleaner background would help greatly.

Thank you for all your comments. Please consider that all these picturese were taken with a 7d + Sigma 70-200 2.8 at 1/400 2.8. No chance to have a neutral background as they were playing in little gym with a lot of parents and players around the tables.

Understood. Gotta be tough to shoot, but you could crop out the guy slouched and falling asleep in the chair though. :D Shoot more, would love to more of this sport seldom seen in these parts.

The expressions on their faces are so fierce! I didn't know that table tennis was so intense! Nice shots.

Hi - I play a lot of TT and shoot it too (some examples at http://www.pbase.com/andymacd/minority_sports). These images are a regular spot in my local newspaper.

For me numbers 4 and 7 are the winners - the rest have hands/bats/balls obscuring the faces (distracting). These two in particular have got great expressions too, which makes the shot. Backgrounds are a little busy (I know this is hard in TT). All are wonderfully in focus though and your lighting is great. Your very lucky - my hall is very dim, makes fast shutter speeds very difficult, which is a challenge in TT. Nice shots over all. Cho!

What was the ISO at? I would imagine the 7D handles noise fairly well. I'd try bumping it up a bit to speed up the shutter :)

I have to disagree, i think the shutter speed is already very sufficient to get the shots, some of them the face may be is slightly oof, but not motion blur. So i think the shutter speed is already really good.
