1) Brides and their families can be crazy.
2) Whatever ideas you have for posing can be completely shot because of a) the weather is ______ b) we're tired c) we're having fun doing ______ & _____
3) Having two cameras with two different focal lengths is crutch.
4) Chapels are dark.
5) Bring a laptop and card reader and show off pictures.
6) Reflectors are awesome
7) Be direct, wedding parties are like cattle...they needed to be herded to get your shots.
8) Be patient, be calm, be polite.
9) Take loads of pictures.
Those are just some of the things I came away with after my first wedding.
It was a pretty big first as it was a location wedding in the mountains. The weather was blisteringly hot sun at 3 pm. It was bright.
I'm thinking of leaving work early today to edit my massive amount of pictures. All the pictures I shot inside were at or around ISO1600. They need to be run through neatimage really quickly for NR and sharpening. I've got a select few ~15 that I'll get creative with. Everything else is just correcting color and fixing balance problems from using reflectors and flash, maybe some cropping and a bit of sharpening.
All in all it was a pleasurable experience. I don't think I'd be signing up to do many though. It was pretty stressful. A lot rides on getting the 'shot'.

That image is straight out of camera/SOOC the only one I uploaded so far.
