I liked the first batch better. Too much emphasis on the pitcher here... the easiest, most predictable position. IMO, the challenge of baseball is capturing that split second of action in each inning. Let's see some offensive/defensive interaction.

In #1, the focus seems to be on his front foot, not his eyes.

Same with #2... looks like slight front-focus.

#4 would be nice if I could tell who the 1B was trying to hold on... does the baserunner already have that much of a lead?

It would have been GREAT to have any action in the field to capture. So you shoot what you can.

The runner did indeed have a large lead.

I think #2 is my favorite. The flat lighting in #1 and #3 doesnt do much for me. Yeah #4 has bokeh but is it great? I dont think so. Its rather un-pretty as far as bokeh goes IMO and the 1B player seems to just be standing there. There may be a baserunner there, but its not very apparent from the pictures. #5 doesnt have much anything and I think youre trying to make something out of nothing with processing (which works sometimes). #6 I kinda like the skin tones from the process but dont like the heavy vignette or the person standing on the edge of the frame. If you took off the vignette and cropped just tight enough to remove him, Id like it a lot more.

Hi Jon - take my advice with a grain of salt as my skills are way below yours, but I like #4 alot - I would just suggest to tone down the highlight on base (it is distracting and kinda looks like a ball) and maybe crop out the spectator in the green shirt.

10's....

I love it too! It is funny though...I don't love it as a sports shot...just love it as a shot in general.

Thanks for the comments!
