I really like these shots, shows the beauty w/o the petals. Good usage of "rule of thirds", now i'm really starting to understand how that rule can work in some photographes. I am seeing things in good photographs, like these, that I would not have understood before. I mean, I know I like what I see, but now I'm starting to understand "why" I like it.

that is a really interesting shot. The first one by itself, I would not have know that was once a flower.

Thanks for the great comments, I posted before and after, because i wouldnt have known either, that it was part of a bloom.

How strange! It almost looks man-made... like a rusty nut or something. Great capture!

I have to admit, when i was taking the picture, I double checked to make sure it was part of the plant. It just had such a square shape to it. thanks for the kind words. Mother Nature never ceases to amaze me.

The first one looks very cool: Kinda industrial. If you were to play with the color people will think it's something metalic.

Nice photo. This most likely the seed capsule from a genus of plants called "seedboxes" - no wonder! There are a lot of native species, but one or more are non-native and are real nuisance plants in Florida.

Bald Eagle - great pics. What's your lens combo on this?

Thanks for the I.D. and the kind words. At the time i was using a 28-80 sigma minizoom macro lens with a 25mm extension tube, natural light, ISO of 100, on Tv mode, 1/30 at 5.6 on tripod with cable release.
