My Canon 10D has suddenly stopped importing photos mid-download. I rebooted several times and checked the connections. It downloads to about 19% then stops. Please help. Thank you in advance for your help.

Get a card reader and attach it to the computer so that it works.

Remove the CF card from the camera and insert it into the card reader.

Your inputs or advice will be appreciated. I am nearly at my wits end here. I spend more than 3 hours to solve this problem. I cannot download my images from my Canon camera to my computer using DPP and synchronised it with EOS utility. Pls help. I used using the cable interface. It was not working. Then I used the card reader, it's not working. I am even amazed of my patience of trying to figure out for 3 hours. I am a newbie of using the DPP.

step by step (assuming you work on a windos computer):

1. get the card out of the camera
2. plug the card reader to the computer (probably USB or FW if it's not an internal card reader)
3. Put the card into the card reader
4. open "my computer" and navigate into your card reader drive e.g "EOS_DIGITAL(F: )" (note: the drive letter may actually vary depending on you computer)
5. Go to the folder "F:\DCIM\xxxEOSxxxD" and there you will find all you photo files .JPG or .CR2 (note: the xxx in the folder path represent numbers for the folder and the camera model)
6. copy the files to the folder you usually store you pictures on your local hard drive
7. open DDP
8. navigate in the panel on the left side to the local folder you just copied the photos to and the thumbnails will show up on the main window in a grid view (note: make sure you are in "folder view")
9. start editing your images and begin enjoy post-processing
