Located near Ouray, CO, this Alpine basin was named for the Yankee Boy Mine that operated there for many years. The basin is famous for its spring wildflowers and waterfalls, and numerous TV commercials have been filmed there (Glade air freshener, various deodorant soaps, etc). Our vist there last week was apparently a little too early for full wildflower bounty, but the waterfalls were flowing strongly.

The colors are just stunning! I haven't seen blue skies like that in a while. Beautiful country.

if possible, go for longer exposure, such as the 3rd pics.... the water flow in the other 2 photo spoil the feel of it.... nice shots nonetheless....

Sparker1 I love the images with the natural looking water. The flowed effect is nice but sort of fake too. It's really nice images you took with normal water. They're great. The flowed water looks nice too. Great work!

Thanks much for the feedback. It's normal that some people prefer long-exposure, silky water flows, while others like a more natural look. I usually take shots both ways, light permitting, and then select the one that looks best to me for that particular situation.
