I went to Universal Studios Hollywood with the family the other day. Outside of the gates, they have "City Walk" which, if nothing else, pays homage to neon lights and glitzy everything.

Each of these shots was handheld, takem with the 20-35mm. Shutter speeds ranged from 1/6 to 1/30. ISO was 100. I had to do some minor post-processing on some of them, mainly just to bring the levels up to where you could see what was in the picture (the Hulk pictures are an example).

Enjoy and, as always, C&C are appreciated:

A sign for one of the many eateries:

One of the vendors was selling these:

An unusual perspective. That's my nephew on the left:

And, lastly, a shot of the outside of the Hard Rock Cafe:

It was, at best, challenging to shoot these. It helped that these were (for the most part) stationary objects...

Steve - great subject matter and nice shots. Any reason you didn't up the ISO from 100?

They were, although I was doing some "leaning" on a trash can for the two pictures of The Hulk...

Well, yes and no. I like to shoot at ISO 100 whenever possible. I've shot enough bands to realize that I can get good quality shots at 100, especially if I'm shooting something that isn't moving. For instance, in the first shot, I wanted to be sure to get some crowd movement. Sure, I may have gotten some had I been shooting at 400, but I knew I would get some shooting at 100.

Also, I'd been shooting at 100 all day, and I just never thought about changing it!

Very nice! I've been wanting to try some night shooting one of these days... I hope I can get something as nice as these! Thanks for sharing.
