I have always been an SLR guy but recently bought a G11 to keep with me at all times. I did some informal and unscientific tests that showed the G11 to be sharpest at the more open apertures. I think it is a function of the small sensor and the fact that f8 is the smallest aperture. Don't get me wrong, none of the images are unacceptable, just better at more open apertures. Anyone else notice this?

Lance,,,,,You are probably right.. Cameras like the G10/11 can have sharpness issues when the lens is stopped right down due to diffraction..
My G10 is razor sharp from f/3.2 to f/5.6..

Yep, my G9 was sharpest at f/4, best DOF. Typical for small sensors

Yeah, under f6 seems to work best on the G9 anyway... the more under the better too.
