View Full Version : Smugmug: can you use your choice of labs?

From what I read on Smugmug.com, you can only use one of their two choices of printing labs, is this correct? I use MillerLab and WHCC and really like them.

I mainly started looking at Smugmug and Zenfolio because when I posted images from my Flickr account, they were noticably degraded. I'm on the free trial on Smugmug and can see a vast difference when I post images I've uploaded (it could be me, I have been known to do things the wrong way). I have a website through Bludomain, that I am mostly satisfied with, but one thing I don't like about it is that the images are kind of small, even in the client proof gallery. Not sure I want to make the move to a website with Smugmug or Zenfolio; but I would like something to give the client a better view of their images.

Yes.
Bay Photo and EZ Prints.
I use Bay and have been very pleased. You may want to do what I done by giving it a test run. Before I signed up with Smugmug I loaded the Bay photo ROES. Sent some images off and waited for their return to proof. I was pleased with the results and signed up.
If you do sign up with smugmug and go with Bay, you will have to set them to your default in your shopping cart options.

Hope this helps,

Ah, man! I just love MillersLab. And I'm familiar with their album software. *sigh* I'll have to think about this.

So you're a fellow S Kakilaki photographer? I'm in Anderson.

I like your site and I'm thinking of going your route with a blue domain template. I would like to have a little more control over certain things that I can not get with smugmug.

You should really try the Bay ROES, I think you would like them just as well. They also have metal, just ordered my "smoke'n tennis ball" on 12" x 36" metal.

I'm not far from ya, Fort Mill just outside Charlotte.
