It seems a new venture for them. I do feel they might be trading on their reputation in the glass making industry and it may not translate into software.
I can't believe they don't make enough money selling filters though.

I thing I can't get past is a software polarizer. I take alot of seascape and fishing pictures. The deep blue sky and standout clouds are important features in my photos. I have my doubts about how a program can bring out effects like that from a file other than RAW.
I really wish canon could come up with some sort of Polarizing sensor filter for RAW. Kind of like the Red, Orange, Yellow and Green Filters for B/W.
