So, I have finally decided to become more serious about photography as a hobby, and I am looking to buy the Canon T1i. Then I see that the T2i is/will be coming out. Any suggestions? Am I getting ahead of myself if I get the T2i. Any advice would be appreciated:cool:

I'm new to the world of SLR's and i got myself a T2i. It's a lot of camera for the money but ofcourse the T1i(i think that's the 500d here in the UK) will drop in price.
Here is a comparison:

I've been told the difference in the cameras isnt as important as the lenses you buy. So perhaps get teh T1i and spend the savings on better lenses?

yeah..as for difference..there isnt really much. unless you wanna shoot more videos. t2i can do 1080 at 30fps compared to the t1i's 1080 at 20fps i believe..
i'm still waiting on the t1i's price to get lower. if you're lucky, you can find them used in excellent condition for 500 (right now i think they're going for a good 600 for a kit) just gotta search hard. that's basically a little more for what a used xsi is going for.
