I've been using photobucket for years, and was thinking of switching to flickr, but I can't seem to link as easily as with Photobucket.

Anyone have a simple and easy way?

Thanks

If you mean linking the picture inside a post, on a Mac you can right click on the image and select "Copy Image Address" then put it between the IMG tags.

Almost got it. Only need to copy this section though: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4071/4503858272_a104589f6a.jpg

Place that in the IMG tags and you'll be set.

I thought flickr wanted you to link the picture back to its URL on flickr

Funny you should mention that because Flickr does specifically ask for that (as option 1) but then gives option two (which is imbedding). I haven't been able to figure out what option one is. I'm used to Photobucket and might just end up sticking with them. Seems easier.

I think it would be a lot better if flickr gave you an alternate code to put on forums, like ubb codes

option 1 is the image enclosed in a hyperlink tag so that clicking the image will take you to the page on flickr. But it's formatted as HTML and not as BB code so it doesn't work for this. I normally copy the image url in option 2 and then just copy the page url from the address bar.

WOW! Macs are super advanced now, they even have a right-click button!

Thanks for the help with flickr postings, I've been trying to figure that out for months :)

No need to get snippy, Kingnog. Macs have supported multi-button mice for a long time. Just because Apple didn't sell 2 button mice until fairly recently, doesn't mean the function properly.

Flikr did for photography what walmart did for shopping
