Not only was it my first time trying to shoot some photos for a wedding (no I was not the main photographer, I am only beginning photography) but it was also my very first wedding that I have been to in my life. It was an experience on both behalves and here are some of my favorites of the day, of what I have taken off the camera.

Comments and criticism are always appreciated because like I said, I am a new photographer so anything will be beneficial to me.

on the first shot, you may have wanted to bring their heads closer together, to close the gap. He seems to be leaning "away" from her.
shot 2: he is really a lot taller than she is? on the first and third shot, they are almost the same height. Unless he is naturally that tall, his face shouldn't have been so much higher than hers. it isn't consistent amongst other shots.
on shot 2 and 3, notice that her arm is hanging straight down on both shots? Women's arms ALWAYS look better when bent at the elbow. The rule, if you follow rules, is that any joint that can be bent should be, but it is especially important with women's arms. It is more slimming, and just visually more appealing. the effect of the hanging arm on the third shot, aside from it not being flattering, is that she looks like she is "backing away" from him or something, which was not the case, I'm sure. Also, notice the stray light on her forehead, her chest, his shoulder. A more uniform light, as in the first two shots, would have served the photo better. When light acts like a rim light or a backlight for the hair, that is a good thing, but when it throws mottled hotspots here and there....not the best scenario.
Having said that, you were able to keep the details in her dress, which many new photographers can't do. They often blow the details out with the flash, and her dress is quite nicely lit, so good for you. Their expressions seem natural, so you must have made them feel comfortable with you.
I think my fav is the first one. I can see them enlarging that one. good first attempt!

suecassidy, I like your tips you gave, any others?
Or do you know of a site that has these kind of pointers/rules?
Thank you
