Morning all,
Its taken me all week to get round to processing and posting my selection from the first rounds of the 2010 British GT Championship.
I was only at the track on Saturday due to work commitments on Bank Holiday Monday.
Didn't feel in the mood early on but seemed to get my head together for the afternoon sessions.
Heres my pics, hope you like them.
1 Lets start with the stereo-typical Oulton Shot, but not everyday you get an F430 on three wheels round Lodge corner.

C&C welcome as always, not the most innovative shots I know, but more than happy with them considering I thought I was having an off day.

B******s to the innovative shots Tim, these are out of the top drawer, and definately the best set I;'ve seen from the GT meeting on any forum. Really well done.
Your website also has some really nice stuff.
Simon.

Simon,
Many thanks for that, I was not really feeling it in the morning, but seemed to get better as the day went on.
Just bought another 55-250 kit lens, its my third now as I keep wearing them out. Its a cracker of a lens for the money and so light to carry around.

Tim

That depends if by "innovative" you mean miniscule cars almost lost in a shot surrounded by trees / scenery at a nice "jaunty" angle.
Personally, i'd rather see the shots you've posted. Superb. :)

Geoff,
Thanks your comment means a lot. I always be sure to have a look at your shots and those of Simon Harrison as I feel they are quite similar in style to mine, its a style I am comfortable with and enjoy producing.
Every forum I go on people seem to post more and more of the short of shots you mention, maybe its a tiny car shot through a hole in the barrier, or perhaps a full size picture where all you can see is the drivers helmet and half the front wheel. That sort of shot doesn't do anything for me personally.
I have been thinking recently that maybe the publications I work for want these type of trick shots but time after time the editors I speak to are just looking for good sharp shots that show all of the car, the racing that takes place and the scenery of the circuit.

Fantastic shots Tim - really sharp, vibrant, well exposed with some nice compositions. I particularly like the head on shot of the Aston (#4) with the heat haze distorting the cars behind - very nice.
The livery of the Ferrari F430 is #6 has to be one of the best liveries I have seen a Ferrari in for a while. Really suits the car IMHO. Lovely shot too.
Shot of the Ferrari F430 with the Nissan behind is a really nice composition (#8), but nothing beats that wide ass of the Porsche 997 in the sun (#10).
Really enjoyed looking at them all though. Keep up the great work :D

Great Photo's:D
I like the description of "innovative". I now know that the Shot's I took at Donington Park with my 35mm Compact before I even knew what an S.L.R. was were "innovative", not a waste of Photographic materials!;)

Tim,
If others want to post wider (etc) shots then good for them. I won't be constantly popping up in their threads telling them they should be doing things differently and equally i don't expect them to pop up in mine (or anyone else's) doing the same.
What makes me chuckle is the idea that they are doing something different, whilst failing to realise they're actually copying countless others who are doing exactly the same.
If they think they can do better, then they should get off their backsides and do it, but many of the loudest critics seem to be very short on visits trackside.
It's a funny old world :)
