I've noticed since I've gotten into film that on all Kodak boxes I've looked at, it says "Made in China/Mexica FOR Kodak". This sounds like they've outsourced their production (and control?) to 3rd party producers.

On the other hands, Fuji's boxes say Made in Japan/Tokyo by Fuji.

Can anyone confirm that Kodak doesn't make their own film anymore?

I live in Rochester, NY (Eastman Kodak HQ) and I don't see how Kodak even has enough employees left in manufacturing to make their own film.

Well EK has (or at least used to have when I worked for that company back at the end of the 80s) several production facilities around the world, they can have moved the facility in Rochester for cost issues and moved somewhere else. I don't know but I can try to ask to some friends that still work there.

A few years ago when Kodak's struggles first started they announce their intentions to focus all R&D on digital. There have been other announcements, since, mostly blue collar layoffs. I can ask around as well. Just to be clear, I work at that other big company in the area...
