I'm still pending confirmation, but I think this is a Virescent Green Metallic Bee - "Agapostemon virescens". I'll edit this post when get confirmation, if it's possible. If you're looking for identification of an inscect, I recently joined:

Great shots. Agree with David that the 2nd one is a little dark. The green bee is amazing. I've never seen one b4. Do you have a lot in Toronto?

:lol: hmhmm.. LOL. now that you mention it... Toronto is rather close to a nuclear power plant. It was quite "chrome green"... almost as if you had dipped the top half into a jar of model paint.

I'm fairly certain, having checked on BugGuide.com that it's a she, so hopefully there are others, and she isn't just a rare specimen here in Toronto. Very pretty.. but twice as fast as a regular bee.
