A couple of Portrait shots that I did for a senior, in the area. I haven't shot any portraits since 92. Trying to get back in the swing of things, D20 at ISO100. Any Comments or suggestions

I'm not a pro at all, but to me it seems like your senior isn't taking up very much of the frame in either. On the second shot, I would move in closer to the car, and have the kid stand on the closer fender instead of the back, so I'm drawn more towards him and not the Mustang.

Just my opinions, but nice shots overall!

The subject is cut off at the knees in the first. Also, with the subject centered, and a prominent pillar element on the third, the picture doesn't have a banced feel to it. Compositionally I would try to come in a little tighter - mid knee - and get that piller to become the right side of the frame. The car picture could be used for an Auto Trader ad, minus the young man. J/K - try an angle where the young man is the featured subject, but be sure to include the car in it, since it is undoubtable an extension of his personality. The mistake is that you have two subjects, the car and the young man, and the car is winning.
