Took a jeep up Corkscrew Gulch, which leads to the top of Red Mountain, just outside Ouray, CO. This was one of the most thrilling things we've ever done, crossing over three mountain passes in one afternoon. This post only covers the first, Red Mountain.
At the 13,000 foot level, there is still plenty of snow. In fact, our trail was basically a tunnel through a large snowbank.

Nice pics. Been there many times myself. That's the best area in Colorado.

Thanks for all the comments. Yes, it has been a really good trip so far, with plenty more to come.
Raj, these were taken with the 10-22. It is a wonderful lens for all landscapes, but particularly these sweeping mountain scenes.

Lovely. Great contrast. Did you use a circular polarizer?

Thanks, Richard, Big_B and Jaime. Yes, I used a CPL on these, and all shots taken under the bright CO sun. It not only helps save the highlights, it gives better contrast and richer colors.

Love the colors!! Most of the hills over here are pretty standard grey...
#2 gives a kind of anticipation feeling.. like what's over the next rise??
Stan.. I had this thread open before I did the other sunset one... ;)

Thanks, Myth. No problem with what you posted, we all have opinions and sometimes our goals for a photo are different. At least we can keep our sense of humor.
