Nice pictures of cars.
Getting totally predictable ,Goncas, and before you say it ,the drivers like them ,because you sell them
No passion or creativity any more .

I know mate, I totally understand, no excuse! What should I do? More pannings? the spot was very dull in terms of landscape...
BTW: the driver was ok (it's the man walking behind the car).

Hi Goncas,
I will send you a PM ,mate .
IMHO you take great pics, but looking back through your m/sport ones on website they follow the same pattern,so will give you a few fresh ideas if I may be so bold.
Regards,
Pons

great stuff. I found my friend Goncalo Pinto on your FlickR he is from my home town of Caldas da Rainha. I will be going to Portugal on vacation in August 12-29 to visit my family and am really disappointed there is not a drop of race fuel in the whole country going on at that time. I managed to find a Precia in Alcobaca that I plan to attend. If you know of any race events/auto shows in August can you let me know. Belas fotos do Ralley... os classicos seram sempre os meus favoritos. xau

Pons,
So right with the comment (Ive never seen any other shots from Goncas so this is not a comment about his stuff).
But so many pros shoot what sells, tight well exposed sharp images..... with no life to em.
Im no expert but I had the comment from a local pro not long ago that I should be shooting as tight as possible from this angle because thats what sells, looking at his website there were hundreds of shots that looked exactly the same, just different coloured cars..... boring!!
The same photog has told me to get into portraiture as this is where I can be creative and he is moving that way as sport is just to repetative and boring for him.
Its funny because as soon as you show a driver a shot of thier car from a different angle they haven't seen before, they love it.
Anyways thats my two bobs worth.
Cheers

Hi Daniel,
I really think these type of shots can look great, and there is a place for them, but lets face they are not difficult to do with decent glass ,and as you say so many websites are full off the same shot, just with a differant car at the same corner.
Technically and execution wise they are often superb, but after a while you get to know what sort of pictures somebody has a preferance for,and exactly what you are likely to see,see one,see them all.
Circuit Racing is very hard to bring life to,but the american tog ,John Thawley often brings us some magnificent images using 24 HR Racing and Sunsets and dawns ,plus imaginitive pit work and people and head shots.
On the rallyscene,Jay Banbury has inspired me as he see's a bigger picture, his website of WRC Events is stunning as is his more domestic stuff.
Lets be honest about this ,most of us are not into photography to earn a living,so as Amateurs can shoot what we like ,with no thought to what sells, and personally,I would much rather come back from an event with half a dozen killer images that I can put on my wall, that are bang on the money, than hundreds of the same that are little more than well taken records of an event.
Every event I go to now there more and more togs there, usually at same places, getting more or less the same shot,so to stand out ,you have to make more effort,be more daring and creative.
The gear we use is that good ,if you have top quality stuff, that it is hard to take a bad picture, quality wise.
Of course,it is each to there own,and it's all subjective, but it is a medium that rewards creativity and it's only us that presses the shutter, and so we decide the outcome ,good or bad.
And that's my threeebobs worth.:)

Superb shots Goncas, all of them excellent indeed, I would probably agree that this type of close crop does sell well, but for forum posting and sharing purposes it might be worth considering a more varied selection occasionally to unleash your undoubted talent and skill :)
