honestly i just waited and hoped that the light on the ground was sufficient to get enough detail without underexposing it with the sky.

those are 5 EV brackets, taken at ISO 200. i took another at ISO 100 that didn't come out so well.

everything was put together with photomatix light. you just have to be careful when cranking up saturation and strength that the colors don't look unnatural. greens and blues tend to be very forgiving, especially in dawn light.

i might make another version of this with more advanced histogram processing in LR3.
