I photographed these warblers (chestnut-sided and american redsart) and decided to focus the attention on them (due to busy background) with some photoshop vignetting.
Let me know what you think...

Nice shots, but I think the vignetting is too heavy.
If the vignetting would be smoother perhaps, more discreet

Cool singing shots, Marc. I really like the Redstart!

I agree with Ikinaa.
A couple more options for emphasizing.... Desaturate the entire picture a bit, and then use the History Brush to undo this desaturation on the subject. You can do the same thing with sharpening, but rather undo the sharpening on the background. Or blur the picture, and undo the blur on the subject. Or increase/decrease saturation... I'm sure there's more ways.
I've used the above techniques many, many times, and I doubt that anyone has noticed it. (At least nobody said anything...) Be careful not to overdo anything, though. Don't be blatant - even subtle uses of the above - or all of the above - will have a rather profound effect without being obtrusive.

Nice shots, Marc.
Interesting effect. Looks like they're in the spotlight, singing their little hearts out! :)
