my cat has started shedding immensely and now there are cat hairs stuck on the felt lining inside of lens hood for 70-200mm f4 IS.

I have no idea how they ended up in there.

Of course.

but...

It's beginning to affect the IQ of the lens: one of the sharpest zooms to date, it's been suffering some corner softness with the lens hood on.

I have no idea how they ended up in there.Well, they're cat hairs. They get everywhere. Whether the cat's been there or not. Once we were 5 days into a cruise on the Chesapeake, sans cats and opened a new bottle of milk, only to find cat hair in it (poetic justice - it was my sister, whose cats they were, that discovered it).

You think you have problems?
Cats are nothing compared to a husky who insists upon covering everything in a thick layer of dogfur!

It snowed in New York? I didn't see anything white falling from the sky except for petals off cherry blossoms. You must mean Upstate.

Judging from your avatar, were you visiting Attica?

Yea, downtown Rochester. Well, to me (as a Floridian) it snowed.
Some of my co-workers from here just laughed and said "nah its flurries".
It didn't stick or anything but still- big shocker for someone who only just saw
snow for the first time this past Christmas
