Some F3GT Oops Moments

Things do go wrong from time to time when you are racing and the other weekend's F3GT meeting had its fair share of oops moments. Fortunately none of these were serious with only some hurt pride and bent cars.

The VW cup drivers had a lot of issues at Druids, this one, like the others, experienced the effects of lift-off oversteer:

This VW driver decided that having all four wheels off the ground might be an interesting way of getting round Lodge corner:

If there was one bunch that wanted to give a lot of work to the recovery teams, it was the Formula Fords. This driver decided to try and empty the water from the tyre wall:

Not all were accidents, sometimes the moment can be simply interesting. A Porsche taking Druids on one wheel and still staying on the racing line is a novel technique:

Howdy Dave. Keeping pretty much OK. Despite trying hard to retire from all this photography, people won't let me!

I quite enjoyed the F3GT weekend especially as it stayed dry, although behind the barriers in some spots it was a veritable mud bath from Friday's heavy rain.

I do love the R8's and Zak Brown deserved driver of the day for a 4th place first time out. He will be partnered by Yorkshire lad Matthew Bell for the rest of the season:

Good to see you posting again. Plenty of action in this lot, although the colours and processing on the orange hover Golf look a bit strange on my monitor. Lovely light on that last F3 shot mind you.

Hope to see some more stuff from you as the season progresses.

Hi Simon, both as they come from the 7D and I agree it has a slight washed out look. I didn't tinker other than resize. The 7D seems to blow highlights a bit too easily. I have done a quick contrat boost and updated the image, any better on your monitor?

I picked up another MKII from a pal for £450 with what I reckon is less then 20K on the shutter. I can't lug three bodies around at my age/fitness so it stays here for when my original packs in - cheaper than a repair most likely.

I know just how much you like pans Glenn. The most impressive panning I saw the other week was someone hand-holding and panning with a 600! Probably had great pan shots of the driver's helmet and eyebrows!

Hi Kenny.
Smashing bit of variety in these well taken shots(Well,I would not expect anthing else)
I was a Canon user till MK3 debacles,which caused me to switch codes,but my MK 2 was really good ,so bet you are well pleased to get one for that bargainous price and mileage.
Though not a big panner myself,that last one is bang on the money,and the colours look really nice,not overdone,my favourite from the batch.
