Camera not found

I recently purchased a Canon Ixus V3 from Hong Kong.

After installing the necessary software, I cannot download any images from the camera to my PC (using windows 2000).

I keep getting the message "no camera found".

I have tried "searching for new hardware" on my PC and it picks up the camera but I cannot find the driver I need to progress any further.

Any ideas???

Help would be greatly appreciated.

ima getting the exact problem. instead i get a usb malfunction. when it pops up to choose the program to use. i get default camera and no programs to choose from. also it shows not ready or in use when i press get picture using scanner and camera.

i've tested if it was sp1 and itz not. i don't think itz usb.

what i am suspecting is when u first time plug in a device, it auto installs but it sometimes ask for extra drivers not found so u put in cd. but what i did was cancel or ignore it. so it didn't install correctly. and that thing only pops up once. if anyone know how please put some comment please

I managed to get the PC to pick the camera up but could not locate the driver on the cd at all ... this is still troubling me.

Does anyone have any ideas???

I have the feeling that it is something very simple that I have done wrong.
