I finally got the opportunity to use my new lens, the EF 75-300mm IS USM. It was very hot today, so not too many creatures were out & about, but did find a few lucky specimens. HAHAHA! These are my favs. Tell me what ya think.:)

Another day off from being a chef, and after satisfying my girlfriend's needs, it was out back to see what Deerwood Lake had to offer. Here are a couple of my favorites. Postprocessing includes cropping, contrast & lightness enhancement, & some sharpening. I like the results, how about you. Please critique. Thanx!!!

Here's a couple more. I'm really getting into the whole nature thing. What a great hobby. Maybe someday & can put down the knives & pick up the camera professionally. HAHAHA!!!

I love that last one of the ducks!
When I was a little kid I did a lot of bird photography with my parents, my hands were really steady then.

Thanx! They sure did give me a good workout having to chase them all around the lake. HAHAHA!!!

Rob, your shots are all very good. The heron in flight might be a touch dark, but still a very nice shot. The dragonflies are particularly nice, with a smoothly blurred background (bokeh). You seem to be making very rapid progress in your new hobby.
