I shot this with a Canon 20 D, with a 75-300mm lens at 300 focal length, with lens switch on auto focus and camera in "action" mode. I am shooting through glass from inside my house to a feeder outside the window. Camera is on a tripod, and i'm using a cable release.
QUESTION: Why is my DOF so shallow, and how do I correct the problem?
Answers anyone?
Thanks!!

Action mode: high shutter speed large aperature.

Shoot Av and set iso to 800 o 1600 if needed and set aperature btwn f/8 and f/11.

But pictur looks fine. The bokeh is nice.

Intuition would tell me that "action" mode is brief shutter speed. That would require a large aperture. That in turn results in a shallow DOF. What does the exif data say about the aperture?

Excellent shot, by the way.

Thanks Rad. The shutter speed is shown at 1/250 of a sec.
