So how do you guys deal with outfit changes on location? In a car? Do you bring a sheet to hold up?

I would imagine this is especially a sensitive thing with Senior and male photographers. You dont want mom thinking your a perv.

But if you are shooting in a park and want an outfit change what do you do?

I don't shoot senior but there are these protable changing things that you can buy. Don't have the link handy, hoping others can chime in.

I've got one of these I use for camping. They put up without tools in a few seconds and fold easily...once you get the hang of it.

a client once brought a hula-hoop, with shower curtain rings attached and a shower curtain attached to said rings. the model's grandmother would hold the hoop up and she'd change. i found it quite brilliant.

Never dealt with seniors, but have a friend who models for me sometimes - she used to drape a towel over the window and change behind the car door, or behind trees, or with just a girl friend holding up the towel. But then she isn't exactly the shy type :)

Otherwise, most of my shoots occur somewhere with a restroom nearby, where the model can duck in and change real fast. Failing that, I've thought about one of those pop-up changing booths - I've seen them pretty cheap, and they're supposed to be easy to setup/break down. But I'd probably only go that far if it started to become a real issue.

so a 35 year old guy can just hold a towel up to a 17 year old girl while out in public?

have their parents made any comments to you about this?

What're you talking about Joe? This thread is about seniors (http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-13041736/stock-photo-gracious-senior-lady-portrait-on-white-background.html).

I drive a lincon navigator and made a coper pipe loop that hangs of the back with a curtain - I also use it when I go to beach or camping as a shower tent

no mate, usually I have a MUA or hair stylist, who are either gay or female, or the model brings an escort/BF who can do it.

otherwise the girl just wraps the towel around herself, and gets changed underneath it. its not the most dignified process but its easier than getting changed some of the random ways people are suggesting. (although the hoola hoop thing is a bit weird but probably very practical :P )

I would think being able to change in a little pop up room would be much easier than trying to change under a towel. don't know though, never done it.

I like the sound of the cowboystudio-type tent

haha, it's basically only the size of a reflector folded up. gonna give it a go to see how it works.

I have only shot one senior but I just used my pop up blind from hunting and wildlife photography. They are all nylon with spring steal loops in them and they pop up in about 20 seconds.

Most places list them around $80. I see them on sale for around 60 all the time. Oh, and yes, the windows have flaps that can zip up to conceal everything. Rick

Awesome idea! I'm a hunter and have a larger pop-up blind and it would work perfectly.

I use this with my minivan (I have a black one):

It's great, drapes fast without any twist-o-flex magic tricks, takes up no additional sidewalk space, and the interior of the van provides place to lay down clothing, makeup, et cetera. In fact, I use it for an extended location session for my own purposes even if the models don't need a dressing room.

I use parks and downtown locations that have public restrooms.

The girls usually have something on underneath that they just change over the top of.
Never been a problem. If it is iffy we tuck them into a corner and stand in front.

By the way I would never shoot a senior girl on location without having someone else there. She should bring a friend or relative.
