10D when will they ship form canon?

I was wondering when the new 10D units will ship form canon??? No one really knows some say the first will ship form canon on 3/10/03 and others say they will ship in 4/01/03. I have 2 on order and just wanted to see if any one had a good idea or any facts on the ship date???

My local store is expecting them to show up around 24 March, but said based on what the Canon rep told him and experience with other Canon products (including D60), the 10D could arrive as early as the 15th and as late as first week in April, if he gets them. He ordered 12, but expected to only get 2 to 4 on first round. I get number 5 (unless someone backs out).

Just what I heard from local store in Virginia, USA.

Evan- I'm also on the list -having drop-kicked my D60. Here is the info I have. According to Canon, the 10D has been in production for quite some time and will hit the vendors rapidly...as early as next week, and as late as the end of March. They think that in the next 90 days, the dealers will be able to satisfy initial demand for them.
The production of the D60 was on a serial-assembly line...which made it difficult to upscale production. Each 10D is assembled by a small group of workers..called a "cell". Increasing the number of cells to meet demand should be easier.
The only bad thing I've heard about the 10D is that the viewfinder is not very clear. Great huh? Lets see what happens.

The viewfinder not clear??? I played with a 10D at PMA in Las Vegas and the viewfinder appeared clear to me. It's not as big as the 1Ds viewfinder but I didn't see any difference in clarity.

Regarding ship date, a Canon rep at PMA told me they had a warehouse full of them and would ship in quantity on March 10th. He also said that Canon is determined not to repeat the D60 back-order fiasco. Samy's, my local camera store expects to get the first shipment this week.

Hope so, I just sold my D60 on eBay (for $1375).

Well, I received my new 10D tonight – D stands for defective, minor though but going back. One good size deep pit in the rear LCD glass/plastic and one annoying white dot (1mm) glaring out of the left side LCD.
I’m not able to test the camera as it was shipping to my home, not my studio, thus I don’t even have a lens w/me. All in all, a frustrating day but the camera is much “beefier.”

That stinks a new camera and you have to sent it back!
