I have upgraded from Photoshop CS to CS2 since I had to reinstall all my software because of a virus.
I was pretty quick and effficient with CS and the old browser, but I am finding with the new Adobe Bridge stand alone application, it is a real pain in the butt to be "switching" back and forth between it and PS.
Am I missing something or does it feel like they went backwards when using automated batch, making more steps, an not as user freindly.
I know there is a learning curve, but Adobe really suprises me with changes like this.

It's a resource hog, both Bridge and CS2 so I choose the lesser of two evils since I must have PS open. What I do is open the photo directory in a normal window, change the view to thumbnails and associate raw and .jpg with PS CS2. It's much less intensive to use the default Windows thumbnail view.

I don't find it any more difficult to use than the old browser, and it does have some slick new features. My complaint with it is that it's very slow to load initially or when changing folders.

In my opinion the new bridge is a huge improvement in batch processing.
I don't think You can get the old browser with CS2.
But is it that different for You?
In CS1 You open the browser and select the raw You want to work with by double clicking? Then ACR opens inside PS and You can process from there. When You want to goto the next image You have to bring the browser to the frong again, in my mind that is just the same with CS2. With CS2 being two different applications You can just use ALT-TAB to switch between the two applications.
You can do much more via the bridge than You can in the old browser. You can select many raws and process them and save them all in one step if You want to. I don't know of any easy way to process many raws quickly with CS browser.

wow fast responses today.
I am only editing jpgs at this current batch, and I usually shoot events, so it is very common to have 200-300 pictures I want to edit for levels, color, contrast, and crop.
What I am having a pain with is when I have thumbnail view in Bridge open, click on the image i want to edit, It opens the image up in CS, I do all my Edits in CS, Save it,
and here is the problem, I have to click back to Bridge, in my Task Bar, to get all of the thumbanials, just to edit the next pictures.
Is there another option, I can choose to simplify this?
I haven't installed the RAW app yet, since I like to use RAW shooter Essentials.

Bridge runs fine here.
Don't know if it's been posted here yet, but there's a new update (1.02) for Bridge on Adobe's site. Bridge has always run fine for me, but this update seems to have helped users who found it slow.

Found it, but it is neither in the normal list or available via the auto update.

ALT-TAB to switch between the 2 applications.

In Bridge, try View-->Compact Mode. This may not be any easier, though. I generally use the keyboard shortcuts at the end of editing an image: Ctrl-s, Ctrl-w, Alt-Tab. Translation: Save, Close, Switch back to last open window. I usa the Alt-Tab shortcut a lot, not just editing pictures. Maybe that will help.
