Sunrise on Moulton Barn Panoramic

Took three shots and stitched them together with Photoshop.

Overall I like the scene and the color coming off the mountains,but....

The sky and upper part of the peaks are blown and there are a number of stitching errors.

In addition, I am not sure what is going on with the blurred areas above the barn. Just above the roof peak, I see some ghosting and to the right of the barn that dark colored foot hill kind of goes away. Looks like a lot of cloning.

Finally, what are those horizontal blurred lines in the foreground on the left half of the image?

My first impression, it looks like you were driving by, snapping the pics from a car window. Am I right?

Nice panorama, Rick. I agree that a darker sky would be nice. We spent a week in successive years staying at the Moulton Ranch cabins just down the road a bit. Spent our days playing chamber music, eating, and drinking. What a life!

No I wasn't driving by snapping pics. I did kinda hurry the stitch though. I took shots with a Canon D60 a Canon EOS Elan IIE and a compact Kodak DX4900. I used a tripod with the two Canon cameras, but not with the Kodak. I got better shots to use in a panoramic from the Kodak though and I got better regular pictures from the Canons. I am reworking the stitch to fix the sky etc, but this is pretty damn good the way it is IMO and many people agree. It prints great and looks great on my wall. Most people agree it's great the way it is, but there are always people overly critical, so I will rework it.

Regarding my "drive by" comment: I realize the horizontal lines in front left part of the pano are part of a two track dirt road. My bad. What prompted that comment was not the two track, but whatever was happening around the barn and the ghosting in the mountains above the roof peak. It appears to be a lot of cloning.

I look forward to the rework because as I begun my original post, I like the colors and the composition.

For whatever camera you used for the posted pano, was the exposure and focus set to shoot in manual so that you would have consistency throughout the scene?
